Bloodbrush

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 23 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several very thick, angular stems covered in very thick, rough, dark green bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are very long and thick with thousands of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of huge, fan-like, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid green with blood red splotches, light and waxy.

It produces many clusters of large, turquoise flowers with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like fruity. In midwinter it forms tinygrey, tough-shelled seeds.


It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It is suitable for making strong rope
