Turquoise Fruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 63 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, wavy trunk covered in thin, silky, brown-green bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pale brown-grey.

The small bunches of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with thick bunches of large, finger-like leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are yellow on the edges and red at the center.

In early spring, it produces thousands of giant, lime blossoms with needle-like petals. They are hardy and have a powerful scent that smells like chocolate.

In mid-autumn it produces , fan-like fruit. The leathery violet skin is peel-able and edible when boiled; it is salty and sour, and the crunchy turquoise flesh is salty and sticky. The black seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
