Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In rainforests.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is very rigid.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
