Emerald Tree

This average-sized tree grows up to 53 meters (173.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 350 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a narrow, curved trunk covered in very thick, ridged, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black with white speckles.

The abundance of branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with small bunches of covered in fine hairs, giant, thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of emerald that gradient shifts to sky blue at the top.

In late summer it forms large, bronze, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
