Mahogany

This giant shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for around 41 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has many long and flexible, straight stems covered in fine, wrinkled, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is black.

The branches are very long and thick that and are covered with large amounts of miniature, slender, pointed, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of emerald that gradient shifts to sky blue at the top, delicate and smooth.

In mid-spring it produces dozens of tiny, purple flowers with circular petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like new books.
