It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is very robust.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores.
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
