Bloodvine

This short leaf succulent grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The thick stem is green, and is covered in many flexible blood red spines. The stocky leaves are found in dark grey and hazel varieties. Large amounts of them grow on narrow, moss green branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are delicate, but take some effort to detach.

It is fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid olive petals decorated with indigo dots and a beige central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of handfuls of widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the purple flesh is smooth, and the brown sap is thin.
