Burgundy Bog Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In bogs.
It is big, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is extremely delicate; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
