Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In bogs, On trees, and On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is overwhelmingly frail.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release millions of spores.
