Burgundy Succulent

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This big cactus grows up to 90 feet (27.4 meters) tall. The very thin stem is burgundy, and is covered in brittle orange spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 18 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are gold on the edges and light grey at the center, grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is made up of 6 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. It has a strong scent that smells like fresh linen.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the pink flesh is rubbery, and the light grey sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.

The sap is light grey.
