Golden Ashplant

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This large shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 146 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has numerous thick, crooked stems covered in thin, silky, yellow bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are long and slender with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of large, long, tapering, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are solid lime or drab purple, with gold streaks, flimsy and fuzzy.

It produces thick bunches of medium-sized, olive flowers with long, tapering petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like ashes. In late autumn it forms giantgreen, winged seeds that float and land far away.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
