Azurefruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 40 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in thick, silky, yellow bark, and inside, the flexible wood is silver.
The small bunches of branches are short and thin and are covered with copious amounts of small, 3 pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are blood red and yellow.
In early spring, it produces many small, washed-out orange blossoms with circular shaped petals. They are hardy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like rotten meat.
In early autumn it produces small, perforated fruit. The leathery azure skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft aquamarine flesh is savoury and very dry. The dark brown seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
