Caramel

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This big shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for around 42 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of narrow, wonky stems covered in delicate, smooth, gray bark, and the wood inside is yellow.

The branches are short and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of large, broad, flat, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are solid caramel with pale purple streaks, frail and leathery.

It produces a handful of medium-sized, bronze flowers with cylindrical shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a faint scent that smells like baby powder. In late autumn it forms tinyred, spiky-shelled seeds.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
