Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In rainy mountain ranges.
It is small, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly flimsy.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
