Crimson Conifer

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 36 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous branched, slanted stems covered in delicate, smooth, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches are short and thick that and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, stiff, pointed, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are blood red on the sides and crimson at the center, flimsy and leathery.

In early summer it produces hundreds of large, azure flowers with finger-like petals. They are sturdy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like cheese.
