Red Spinedsucculent
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 55 feet (16.8 meters) tall. The tapering stem is red, and is covered in thick sheets of flexible sky blue spines. It has a straight, thin, caramel trunk atop a thick tripod of cracked, exposed roots. The branches are thick and burgundy and are very short and thin.
The rounded-edged, pleated leaves are found in light brown, orange and light brown varieties. They are hardy, and are very difficult to pull away.
It is quick growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid dark grey petals and a red central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 8 years. The flower head is largely flat with several tightly layered narrow petals. It has a soft scent that smells like warm cookies.
The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the hazel flesh is sticky, and the indigo sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It is difficult to cut through.
