This copper moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In bogs.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is extremely strong; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release hundred of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
The leaves are bitter, but very healthy.
It comes in 9 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
