Blackwood

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 10 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous very thick, angular stems covered in very thick, smooth, black bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of huge, very thin, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are generally dark grey, sturdy and sticky.

It produces hundreds of giant, cream flowers with broad, flat petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like cheese. In late summer it forms tinyblack, spiky-shelled seeds.
