Crimson Ropevine
Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 48 feet (14.6 meters) and growing as high as 95 feet (29.0 meters).
It takes 4 years for the lime green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are smooth and woody.
The very thin, waxy leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are crimson and red, and have ripped edges.
During late spring, the vine produces many average indigo flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces lots of very large seed pods.
