Caramelvine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 36 feet (11.0 meters) and growing as high as 731 feet (222.8 meters).

It takes 3 years for the gray-green stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are rough and gnarled.

The long, narrow, smooth leaves reach up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) in length. They are lime and grey, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thousands of large caramel flowers.


It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
The sap is purple.
