Azure Blaze

Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is very thin, and the small, green leaves are dark sky blue on the underside and are pleated with tattered edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Dozens of medium-sized flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide, with solid azure petals decorated with blue dots and a indigo central disk. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of raised round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has a strong scent that smells like coconut, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.

It is frequently struck by lightning.

The sap is edible and overwhelmingly sweet.
