Brownbell

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 140 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has several wide, angular stems covered in fine, waxy, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches trail down to the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of huge, wide, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are pale yellow at the bottom and brown with cream streaks at the top, tough and leathery.

In early summer it produces a handful of tiny, green flowers with circular petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a fairly strong scent that smells like perfume.
