Copper Moss

This copper moss is commonly found growing in large clumps On trees.
It is big, growing up to 9 inches (23 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly delicate; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release dozens of spores.
