Red Crescent Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In rainforests.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is overwhelmingly strong.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores.

It is suitable for making strong rope
The grains are bitter, but very healthy and can be used to make numerous baked goods.
