Violetvine

This giant bine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 1,982 feet (604.1 meters) and growing as high as 268 feet (81.7 meters).

It takes 14 years for the gray stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 2.3 feet (69 cm) and are rough and woody.

The finger-like, fuzzy leaves reach up to 8 inches (20 cm) in length. They are violet on the edges and slate at the center, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the bine produces a thick sheet of tiny brilliant blue flowers, and during the late autumn, after flowering, it produces plenty of large fruits.
