Graywind Tree

This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2987 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, wonky trunk covered in thin, cracked, light gray bark, and inside, the dense wood is pine-coloured.

The small handful of branches are short, thin and wispy, covered with small amounts of huge, cream or red needles. The needles themselves are frail.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, grey, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
