Golden Spiralvine

This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its gold and drab green stem is thin, and the tiny, yellow-green leaves are spear shaped with tattered edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with drab purple petals on the lower layer and peach petals decorated with indigo dots on the inner layer. The central disk is yellow. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 30 curved petals. They detach easily.

It has a strong scent that smells like cigarette smoke, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.
