Coppervine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This huge flower grows up to 13.6 feet (4.1 meters) tall. Its lime green stem is thick and straight with a curved tip, and the large, copper leaves are wide with toothed edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

6 to 9 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 72 cm (28.3 inches) wide, with silver petals that gradient shift to brown on the outer edge. The central disk is lilac. The flower head is shaped like a sphere with 39 raised, narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like rainy days, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.

The grains are bitter, but very healthy and extremely spicy.
