Magenta

This modest-sized flower grows up to 2.0 feet (61 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is very thick and splits into numerous branching stems at the base, and the small, pink-red leaves are asymmetrical with wavy edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two small flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with petals that are magenta in the center, sky blue in the middle and washed-out blue at the edges. The flower head is made up of 12 petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like leather, and it has lots of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
