Burgundy Blaze

Flower type: Annual (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This small flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its burgundy stem is very thick, and the tiny, gray-green leaves are long, tapering with rounded edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 7 cm (2.8 inches) wide, with solid orange petals decorated with brown dots and a grey central disk. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight dish. They detach easily.
