Amberleaf

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 85 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has many stocky, straight stems covered in hard, wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, needle-like, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are amber and green, delicate and smooth.

It produces a thick sheet of small, lilac flowers with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have an intense scent that smells like new books. In late winter it forms tinydark orange, winged seeds that float and land far away.
