Crimsonvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 25 feet (7.6 meters)0.

It takes 13 months for the pink-red stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are rough and prickly.

The asymmetrical, smooth leaves reach up to 10 inches (25 cm) in length. They are light grey and faded red, and have irregular edges.

During late spring, the bine produces a thick sheet of colossal bronze flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces plenty of large fruits.

It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
