Turquoise

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This enormous fruit tree grows up to 49 feet (14.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 32 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, curved trunk covered in very thick, rough, yellow bark, and inside, the very hard wood is white with black speckles.

The tangled mess of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of small, finger-like leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either turquoise or orange, with purple zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces balls of tiny, copper blossoms with perforated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have no scent.

In late summer it produces , cuboid fruit. The hairy florescent orange skin is stretchy and edible when boiled; it is savoury, and the slightly crunchy crimson flesh is slightly spicy and oily. The green seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.

It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
