Silverleaf Firebloom

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 34 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several knobbly, wavy stems covered in thin, smooth, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, very thin, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are red at the bottom and yellow with slate patches at the top, fairly frail and crispy.

In mid-summer it produces several medium-sized, orange blossoms with 5 spiral shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like candle wax.

In early autumn tiny broad, flat fruits ripen. The crispy beige skin is tough and inedible, and the very soft cream flesh is sweet and juicy. The florescent green seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.
