Blue Sky Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized cactus grows up to 59 feet (18.0 meters) tall. The wide stem is moss green, and is covered in lots of fine, green, hair-like spines.

It is slow growing, taking 32 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are generally sky blue; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 curved petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like rich perfume.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the light grey flesh is soft, and the amber sap is thin.
