Magenta
Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 163 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has many sturdy, twisting stems covered in thin, smooth, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.
The branches are long and thick with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, 4 pointed, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are magenta at the bottom and blood red with silver edges at the top, flimsy and soft.
In mid-summer it produces several large, lime blossoms with umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a soft scent that smells like musk.
In midwinter tiny asymmetrical fruits ripen. The fuzzy blue skin is tough and edible when boiled; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy crimson flesh is sweet and juicy. The grey seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.
