Carmine
Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This giant flower grows up to 8.3 feet (2.5 meters) tall. Its pale green and moss green stem is wispy and splits into 6 branching stems at the base, and the huge, green leaves are 4 pointed with serrated edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 60 cm (23.6 inches) wide, with solid intense red petals decorated with deep green lines and a caramel central disk. The flower head is made up of 10 petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like an ocean breeze, and it has very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
