Caramel Moss

This caramel moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly flimsy.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores.
