Lilac Succulent
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The wide stem is yellow-green, and is covered in copious amounts of rigid lilac spines. The angular, red trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter at the top. Its gray-green branches are tall, rigid and upright and start growing three quarters of the way up the stem.
The very large amounts of toothed-edged, finger-like leaves are cream with pink tips. They are robust, and do not detach easily.
It is quick growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid intense red petals decorated with deep green lines and a caramel central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like rotten egg.
The caudiciform's skin is thick, the hazel flesh is smooth, and the caramel sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
