Silverfern

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 23 meters (75.5 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 233 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in delicate, smooth, dark gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow.

The branches are short and thin and are covered with small amounts of smooth, small, 2 pointed leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are silver with red tips.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, gentle yellow berries.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
It is frequently struck by lightning.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
