Yellowvine

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 18 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, curved trunk covered in smooth, brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black with white speckles.

The extensive patches of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with very large amounts of large, long, tapering leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are grey and vibrant yellow.

In early spring, it produces dozens of medium-sized, violet blossoms with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like cotton.

In late summer it produces , circular fruit. The hairy gold skin is stretchy and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the soft slate flesh is sour and very juicy. The florescent yellow seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is frequently struck by lightning.
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
