Aquamarine Fruit Tree

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 74 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in ridged, light brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is light brown.

The extensive patches of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of tiny, slender, pointed leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are beige and brown.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, beige blossoms with 8 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have an overpowering scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

In early summer it produces , oval fruit. The sticky grey skin is peel-able and overwhelmingly bitter, and the crunchy aquamarine flesh is sweet and spicy and oily. The drab red seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
