Copperleaf

This average-sized leaf succulent grows up to 24 feet (7.3 meters) tall. The tapering stem is copper, and is covered in many rigid dull orange spines. The rounded-edged, very thin leaves are yellow and vibrant orange. Thick bunches of them grow from the base in a loosely patterned way. The leaves are durable, and do not detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with each petal a slightly different shade of grey grows at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is made up of 19 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. It has a weak scent that smells like a damp log.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the turquoise flesh is sticky, and the brown sap is thin.
