Coppervine

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. Its copper and caramel stem is thin and splits into many branching stems at the base, and the small, gold leaves are very narrow and elongated with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Each stem splits 6 to 8 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 29 cm (11.4 inches) wide, with solid red petals decorated with caramel lines and a green central disk. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of 19 widely spaced, narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a weak scent that smells like citrus, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.

It is difficult to cut through.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
