Indigo

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The perforated stem is emerald, and is covered in brittle cream spines. The smooth-edged, very thin leaves are a shade of moss green that gradient shifts to brown at the top. Thick bunches of them grow from the base in alternating layers of 3, then 6, then 9, and so on. The leaves are light, and easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 10 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are indigo on the edges and black at the center grows at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 47 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like wet dog.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the sky blue flesh is soft, and the blue sap is thin.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
