Blue Mint Flower
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This average-sized flower grows up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is very thin, and the huge, brown leaves are very narrow and elongated with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
Two giant flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 47 cm (18.5 inches) wide, with pastel blue petals and an orange central disk. The flower head is largely flat with 55 raised narrow petals. They are very delicate.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like mint, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
