Goldenrod

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 29 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several slender, wavy stems covered in delicate, knobbly, yellow bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of small, spear shaped, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are emerald with orange tips, rigid and leathery.

In mid-summer it produces hundreds of medium-sized, gold flowers with stiff, pointed petals. They are hardy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like rotten egg.
