Silverwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 558 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a branched, straight trunk covered in hard, silky, yellow bark, and inside, the very light wood is silver.
The small bunches of branches are short stubs and are covered with sparse amounts of soft, miniature, 6 pointed leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of caramel or sky blue that gradient shifts to dark brown at the top.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, orange, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
Before maturity, it can grow 0 per day.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
