Bluebell Bush

This average-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 50 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many long and flexible, twisting stems covered in thin, waxy, brown bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches trail down to the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of tiny, needle-like, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are sky blue on the sides and subtle green at the center, hardy and waxy.

In mid-spring it produces large amounts of giant, silver blossoms with spear shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like something putrid.

In early winter tiny pleated fruits ripen. The fuzzy caramel skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft sky blue flesh is sweet and very dry. The dark green seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.
