Silverleaf Trumpetvine

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 168 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous flexible, curved stems covered in paper-thin, waxy, light brown bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with copious amounts of giant, perforated, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are cream on the sides and silver at the center, hardy and rough.

It produces large amounts of small, vivid orange flowers with asymmetrical petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like sugar. In early summer it forms largedull yellow, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
